Indianizer is an Italian band formed in 2013 and hailing from Turin, Italy. Like an expanding mycelium, the line-up has changed over time: what first started as a duo soon became a quartet until it reached the current five-piece line-up. The band consists of Riccardo Salvini (lead vocals), Salvatore Marano (synthesizer, electric piano, electric organ, vocals), Gabriele Maggiorotto (drums, percussion), Massimiliano Zaccone (synthesizer, percussion, drum machine, vocals) and Marco Gervino (electric guitar, vocals).
Indianizer is a band devoted just as much to the dancefloor as it is to melodies and experimentation. Blending cosmic sounds, krautrock, house beats, percussive polyrhythms and tribalism into eccentric pop songs, Indianizer have created a unique sound that could be defined as “psych-tropical beat”. Their freaky lyrical imagery is enriched by several languages (Italian, English, French, Spanish and Creole) as well as by made-up vocalisations and transcendental chants, which all coexist in their record production.
